
In 2023, Idesam launched a project to map forest carbon projects in Brazil, with the aim of assessing their relationship with and impact on land tenure categories and collective territories. The mapping was developed as part of the project entitled: Forest Carbon Projects in Brazil: analysis and proposals from the perspective of local territories, which received support from the Climate and Society Institute – iCS.
The project aims to inform the debate on forest carbon projects in Brazil, particularly in the Amazonian context, and to make information on these projects available in a clear and visual format to ensure accessibility and transparency for civil society.
