Through training and ongoing technical support for social organisations, we strengthen local human capital, generating direct socio-economic benefits for the communities where we operate. Furthermore, we work to support the structuring of these organisations’ value chains, ranging from physical support with machinery and construction works, through environmental licensing, to product development and market access.

An inclusive economy that works in harmony with the forest has a positive impact on communities, reconciling income generation with the way of life of local populations.

Investing in an inclusive and sustainable development model for the Amazon means supporting its conservation and its people. This involves direct support for technical assistance and management within the main value chains run by social organisations.

A collective brand formed by associations and cooperatives in Amazonas, with support from Idesam, dedicated to the marketing of sustainable forest products. The initiative benefits around 2,500 people, valuing the work of extractive families and promoting forest conservation. We provide technical advice to small-scale producers.

Since 2018, Idesam has been collaborating with the FSC, resulting in the FSC certification of the Uatumã Sustainable Development Reserve in 2022, covering both timber and non-timber products. Furthermore, FSC Brazil has carbon-neutralised its activities in partnership with Idesam’s Carbon Neutral Programme, reinforcing the mutual commitment to the sustainable development of the Amazon.

Origens Brasil Network Origens Brasil® is a network that promotes ethical business in the Amazon, connecting companies with local producers in areas of socio-environmental diversity. Since 2018, Idesam has been part of this initiative, strengthening sustainable production chains and empowering Amazonian communities.

The United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021–2030) aims to prevent, halt and reverse global environmental degradation. In 2023, Idesam was recognised as an official partner in this initiative, reaffirming its commitment to the conservation of the Amazon and joining the global movement for the planet’s recovery.
