The Idesam Carbon Neutral Programme (PCN) was launched in 2010 with the aim of connecting major urban centres to forests, enabling people, businesses and initiatives to take responsibility for the impacts they have on the planet by offsetting
their greenhouse gas emissions (GHG).
Neutralisation is achieved by planting native trees in Agroforestry Systems (SAF), a method that prioritises species of economic value to the communities of the Uatumã Sustainable Development Reserve (RDS) in Amazonas.
The PCN’s working methodology has already been recognised by various
initiatives and is now part of the FBB’s Social Technologies Bank.

Partner Families
Idesam knows that keeping the forest standing is only possible if the people living in the Amazon are also empowered. Our mission is also to work side by side with these communities, demonstrating the economic benefits that a conserved forest can offer.

Our Activities
[related_news category_slug=”environmental-services”]

The IDESAM Carbon Neutral Programme is open to companies, events and individuals interested in offsetting their GHG emissions and contributing to climate change mitigation, whilst also generating a range of socio-environmental benefits for the communities living in the Uatumã RDS. The activities to be carbon-neutralised are, for the most part, related to electricity consumption, air travel, land and/or river transport, accommodation, amongst others.
